Depart Bangkok on a 50km (31mi) drive to Nakhon Pathom Province for an agro-tour along the Mahasawat Canal, offering an authentic glimpse into Thailand’s rural culture. Built over 150 years ago by order of King Rama IV, the canal was designed to facilitate travel to the province’s temples, connecting the Chao Phraya River and the Tha Jeen River.
At Wat Suwannaram, board a small motorized boat to explore the canal. The boat trip offers plenty of photo opportunities of the Thai countryside, including lotus fields, wooden stilt houses, and fruit orchards with mangos, guava, and jackfruit. Along the journey, visit local workshops to see the production of Khao-Tung Hna-Tung (Thai Crispy Rice Crackers), where you'll also have the chance to try your hand at making this popular snack.
Continue the experience with a visit to an orchid farm, exploring the fields by a traditional Thai-style tractor (E-taen). Enjoy a delicious Thai lunch near Don Wai Floating Market, then head to Phra Pathom Chedi, the largest pagoda in Thailand and the official symbol of Nakhon Pathom.
Return to Bangkok and spend the evening at leisure.
Overnight in Bangkok
Start today’s journey with a 1-hour drive to the famous Railway Market outside Bangkok. The railway became famous for its route through the Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hoop), meaning the “Umbrella Pull-down Market”. It is one of the largest fresh seafood markets in Thailand, centered along the Maeklong Railway’s tracks.
Then, continue driving to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. This vibrant market features numerous small boats laden with colorful fruits and vegetables, paddled by Thai women often wearing traditional bamboo hats. Almost always bustling with hundreds of vendors, buyers, and tourists, the best way to experience the lively atmosphere is to board a rowing boat yourself and make your way through the small canals to buy fresh produce from the vendors. This is one of the last remaining places to witness the traditional way of buying and selling goods in Thailand.
Later, head back to Bangkok and stop at Don Wai Market, an authentic local market on the banks of the Nakhon Chaisi River. Located on the grounds of a temple, this market is mainly frequented by locals. Walk along the riverbank, where more than 1,000 stalls line both sides, offering a variety of local delicacies. Take the chance to sample some of the market’s most popular dishes (on own expense). Enjoy a Thai lunch at a riverside restaurant before returning to Bangkok in the late afternoon.

Today, these unique boats have been brought back to serve for the tourists. Enjoy your drink and appetizer at the charming Malin Pavilion, followed by a luxurious dinner set with a complimentary bouquet on board, and indulge in a delicious dessert on the terrace.
