Tran Phu Street in Hoi An Among the Most Beautiful Streets in the World

Among the 71 most beautiful streets in the world recently voted by Architectural Digest magazine, Tran Phu Street in Hoi An (Quang Nam) ranked 45th.

Hoi An was once a very prosperous and bustling trading port, especially during the period from the 15th to the 19th century. Today, the ancient city located along the poetic Thu Bon River has long become a destination attracting tourists with its unique cultural and historical values.

Tran Phu Street, located in Minh Anh Ward, Hoi An City, is about 1 km long, with one end connecting to Hoang Dieu Street and the other end leading to Chua Cau. This street is situated in the center of Hoi An Ancient Town and was known during the French colonial period as Rue du Pont Japonnais, meaning Japanese Bridge Street. The street leaves a strong impression on visitors with its vibrant lanterns every full moon night.

As described by Architectural Digest, beautiful streets are not simply places for tourists to walk, but also wonderful experiential spots. These are streets that take us back centuries, with shops and heritage sites lining both sides...

Ancient architectural works on Tran Phu Street include the assembly halls of Guangdong, Fujian, Quynh Phu, and Chaozhou, Quan Cong Temple, Hoi An Museum of History and Culture, Sa Huynh Cultural Museum...

Despite the ups and downs of history, Tran Phu Street has retained its ancient beauty, with moss-covered tile-roofed houses and small shops under brightly blooming bougainvillea trellises. Along this street, visitors can also easily find many souvenir shops or restaurants serving Hoi An's specialty dishes.

The list of the most beautiful streets in the world also recognizes that in Asia there are streets in Chengdu (China); Sagano bamboo forest walkway in Kyoto (Japan); old town in Lijiang in Yunnan province (China); Koon Seng street in Singapore, Romanee street in Phuket (Thailand)...

Previously, Time Out magazine also selected Hoi An as an ideal travel destination in July. At that time, tourists visiting Vietnam often chose the beautiful beaches in the central region, and Hoi An was a must-visit destination. Additionally, the magazine suggested that tourists should visit Da Nang, the ancient capital of Hue, and Phong Nha Cave (Quang Binh) to admire the beauty of Central Vietnam.
