Enter Vietnam without vaccination certificate

The Ministry of Health is seeking opinions that foreigners enter Vietnam don’t need to furnish a Covid-19 vaccination or recovery certificate.

As ministry’s draft plan, negative RT-PCR test for Covid within 72 hours before flight departs or rapid test within 24 hours are required for every passenger who want to enter Vietnam, except children under 2 years old.

Testing after arriving be repealed, but visitors must follow pandemic prevention measures as regulated by Vietnamese authorities, including wearing masks, make medical declarations upon arrives and installing PC-Covid application during their trip in Vietnam.

If passengers show any Covid-19 symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, stuffy nose, body pain, fatigue, chills, they should report to medical staff immediately.

Children under two years old are not required to test for Covid while children who have not been fully vaccinated or have not yet been infected with Covid are allowed to join outdoor activities with their parents.

Under current regulations, fully vaccinated people and those who have recovered from Covid-19 need to self-isolate for three days after arriving in Vietnam while unvaccinated people must self-isolate for seven days and be tested twice during this period.

Vietnam started allowing foreign tourists under a vaccine passport program with strict restrictions last November. So far, nearly 9,000 foreign arrivals have been welcomed under the program, half of them Vietnamese overseas coming to see their relatives.

Under the program, Khanh Hoa, Kien Giang, Quang Nam, Quang Ninh, and Binh Dinh provinces, along with Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City are the only localities foreign tourists can visit.
