Vietnam will celebrate a five-day national holiday from April 30 to May 4, 2025, in honor of the 50th anniversary of Reunification Day and International Labour Day. April 30 marks the historic reunification of the country, while May 1 pays tribute to workers across the nation.
In the capital city, a solemn flag-raising ceremony will take place at dawn at Ba Dinh Square, near the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. The ceremony will be followed by cultural performances, traditional music, and official speeches celebrating national unity.
Ho Chi Minh City will host a grand parade on April 30, beginning at 6:30 a.m. in front of the Independence Palace. The event will feature over 13,000 participants, including both military personnel and civilians. A 21-gun salute and aerial flyovers are also planned.
In the evening, Nguyễn Huệ Walking Street will come alive with street performances, food markets, and festive light displays, offering both locals and tourists a vibrant holiday experience.
If you're planning to visit Vietnam during this holiday period, be sure to book accommodations and transportation well in advance, as demand will be extremely high. Expect heavy traffic in major cities and popular tourist destinations. Also note that many businesses, banks, and public offices will be closed on April 30 and May 1.
