Laos plans to reopen country to fully vaccinated tourists in 2022

The Lao Government has announced its plan to reopen the country to fully vaccinate tourists in January of 2022 under the “Lao Travel Green Zone” program. Vientiane, Vang Veng, and Luang Prabang, the capital of Laos, are classified as “green zones” under the project.

The Wattay International Airport and the Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge will be the international entry points in Vientiane.

This scheme will allow visitors to book tour packages on the condition that they have a Laos VISA, certificate of entry, a vaccination certificate dated at least 14 days prior to entry, a negative PCR test result for COVID-19 done 72 hours or less before departure.

Full details will be confirmed in the next few days as well as full details of the LaoSafe approved hotels and transportations programme.
