Hoi An named in world’s most welcoming cities list

Hoi An ancient town was the only place in Vietnam listed into the most 10 welcoming cites on Earth, according to Booking.com

More than 232 million reviews by verified users on the travel and accommodation website have been analyzed to give results as ranking for the list this time. These destinations have an above-average number of properties with exceptional reviews for friendly hospitality.

“To get a real taste of Hoi An and authentic village life, travelers can take a guided cycling tour to visit local artisans and learn about their craft, from throwing pottery and making traditional reed mats to noodle making and wood carving,” said the U.S.-based agency.

“After a day of exploring, travelers can settle in for some stylish pampering at Anio Boutique Hotel, complete with floating cocktails and nibbles in the property’s elegant courtyard swimming pool.”

Top welcoming cities raking is part of annual Booking.com’s Traveler Review Awards list, an honor given out to 1,261,273 accommodations, car rental companies, and pre-booked taxi providers across 220 countries and territories.

The list also featured Matera in Italy, Bled in Slovenia, Nusa Lembongan in Indonesia and Taitung City in Taiwan.

Hoi An town has captured the hearts of travelers from all over the world with its UNESCO-listed old town, the simple daily life of the locals, the bustling and prosperous streets, and the beautiful white sand beaches nearby.

Recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage in 1999, the city is a maze of ancient temples, houses, and shops built around various canals.
